SCHOOL UPGRADES

Term-time 2021

We perform a great deal of work with educational institutions in Oxfordshire and the surrounding areas performing various tasks, from full renovations to reconfigurations and upgrades. Our entire team is DBS checked which enables us to work quickly and effectively within school settings without any administrative delays.

This project was at a Primary School in Oxfordshire in which we were engaged to upgrade the existing fire doors and glazed screens for nine classrooms. We have extensive experience in this arena, specialising in internal doors and partitioning of both fire and non-fire rated categories.

For this project we also provided all technical drawings for the client, who gave us the simple brief of upgrading their current situation, bringing the areas up to current building regulations and improving the aesthetic.

When performing construction work on schools you are presented with some unique challenges. More often than not projects such as this are completed during school holidays; however, on this particular occasion we were required to work during the day, during school time.

This meant that we had to work according to a very tight timeframe in order to create minimal disruption to the student’s timetable. The entire project was started and completed during term-time in 10 working days, the team was only able to work on available classrooms to suit the student rotor.

The project was delivered on time and on budget thanks to the efforts of our team throughout this sensitive job.

The main challenge with this project was working within an occupied school setting, but the team managed their time well and there was no disruption to normal school life. The client and BPJ were very happy with the final outcome.” Craig, Project Manager.
